How to adjust the tension of the Low-Speed Elevator Compensation Chain during debugging?

Preparation

Before adjusting the tension of the Low-Speed Elevator Compensation Chain, you need to ensure that the elevator is in a safe stop state, cut off the power supply and take protective measures to prevent accidental start-up. At the same time, prepare suitable measuring tools, such as a tension meter, to accurately measure the tension of the compensation chain.

Inspection and evaluation

First, conduct a comprehensive inspection of the compensation chain. Check whether the connection parts of the compensation chain are firm and whether there are signs of looseness, deformation or damage. Observe the hanging state of the compensation chain in the elevator shaft to preliminarily determine whether its tension is roughly appropriate. If the compensation chain is too loose or tight, it needs to be adjusted.

Tension adjustment method

For compensation chain systems with tensioning devices, the tension can be changed by adjusting the tensioning device. If it is a spiral tensioning device, use a special tool to rotate the screw. When rotating clockwise, the tensioning device will tighten the compensation chain and increase its tension; counterclockwise rotation will loosen the compensation chain and reduce the tension. During the adjustment process, the operation should be slow, and the tension of the compensation chain should be measured with a tension meter after each adjustment.

In the absence of a special tensioning device, the tension can be changed by adjusting the height of the suspension point of the compensation chain. For example, at the upper connection point of the compensation chain, the suspension height of the compensation chain can be increased or decreased by adding or removing gaskets or adjusting the position of the suspension bolts. Raising the suspension point will increase the tension, while lowering it will reduce the tension.

Tension Standard and Confirmation

The tension standard of the Low-Speed Elevator Compensation Chain is usually specified by the elevator manufacturer. Generally, it is necessary to ensure that the compensation chain can effectively balance the weight changes of the car and the counterweight during the operation of the elevator, and will not cause excessive wear or damage to other parts of the elevator due to excessive tension, nor will it fail to function normally due to too little tension. After the adjustment is completed, it is necessary to conduct multiple elevator slow-running tests and check the tension of the compensation chain again to ensure that its tension is stable and meets the standard throughout the entire running stroke to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the low-speed elevator.
